I scored this mid century nugget when a friend of mine was browsing through
The Salvation Army. She sent me a pic showing the name on the inside of the
drawer. I couldn't call her back fast enough telling her to "GRAB IT!!"
Who donates a Kent Coffey???!!! Thank you whomever!
Look at the cute little acorn hardware, which polished up quite nicely!! Use a fine steel wool and a good polish.
I gave the top a coat of aqua chalk paint with a celery green accent in the quatrefoil pattern.
I also kept the factory black paint by lightly sanding and then giving it a few coats of my
homemade black chalk paint. (I used 'Gliddens' in Onyx).
Ended up making my own stencil. I printed it out on contact paper and used an exacto knife.
Not exactly a 10 on my fun-O-meter, but I managed to finish it! Solid mahogany drawers in pristine condition! Just a little tung oil to liven them up.

So Saturday starting at 8am we are having a yard sale in South Langley
We are located on 227th street south of 16th ave.
All you have to do is follow the signs from 16th.
3 other households will be bringing their trash to become your treasure,
along with every nook and cranny around here will be cleared out.
Everyone is welcomed to come and see my teeny tiny showroom of finish furniture also.
A few items that will be available are:
new laminate flooring I cant find a place to use, lamp bases and shades to revamp, a selection of ceramic tile for a number of projects, some dishes, hardware, some tools, lots of nick nacks, lots of
furniture ready for you to revamp, mirrors, frames, a presser washer/conpressor, a set of out door chairs, pair of bistro chairs, pond pumps, cute wall shelves, shutters, vases, a rug, a white wood adorondac chair, the very last drift wood bench I have, plus lots more that I cant think of right now.
George has the day off Friday and I will be running back and forth between loading the driveway
with all this stuff and working on the computer. My sister, my nephews, and my daughter will all be
here Saturday helping things run just right.

One of the little joys of furniture UpStyling is selecting the knobs or handles for a piece. From the moment I lay eyes on a furniture project, my mind is not only imagining all the paint possibilities, but also the all the possibilities for the hardware. In fact, I think I get a little crazy. Oh youll see what I mean! Just wait till you get yourself on etsy.com and immerse yourself in all the knobs etc available. Glass, vintage, handpainted, hanging....oh the choices are endless!
The places I most often look to for knobs are:
- Esty.com and ebay.com
- hobbylobby.com (there is also a location in Columbia, MD!)
- anthropologie.com
When deciding what hardware to use for a piece, dont forget to consider using what is already on a piece. Original harware can really keep the vintage feel or you can simply update it by actually painting the hardware itself.

My best hardware tip...
So many times as I was replacing knobs, I ended up not having a long enough or too long or the wrong size screws!!! Then I found this....
Ok...get this, they are really long and are scored at various points so using pliers, you can simply twist them apart at the correct length...genius!!!

Recently she has started a line of robes made from vintage chenille for us semi-grown up ladies.
